Point out the obvious - the “in love” marketing trap
Everyone seems to fall in love with their product. Which is certainly a good thing. But it comes with some drawbacks as well.
When you think about your product 24/7 - how can I improve it, how can I make sure that I make the most profit, etc. - then you start to assume that everyone knows the same things as you do.
But it’s simply not the case.
Most of the things that seem basic to me may seem as something completely new to you and vice-versa.
So even I have to think about how to phrase some thoughts which I want to write down.
Because if I don’t write it to be as detailed as possible for you to understand, you may miss what I’m trying to say. And maybe if I didn’t write that piece of information down, you wouldn’t understand anything. That’s why I always point out the obvious.
But why is it important to you?
If you are trying to advertise and you write down something and what you wrote down doesn’t make sense in the customer’s mind, then they just simply get confused.
And you know what a confused customer does… NOTHING. They won’t buy anything. So try to always point out the obvious to make sure you don’t confuse the customers.
Remember, a confused customer is the worst customer.
